Bologna president Joey Saputo has expressed his discontent after what he considers to be an ‘unacceptable’ Serie A performance from the club.
The Rossoblu endured a tough season in the league which resulted in them finishing 15th in the standings, nine points above the relegation zone.
One of the team’s lowest points in the campaign was a 7-1 humiliation at the hands of Napoli, which formed part of a seven-game winless run.
“Yes, I thought it would be better,” Saputo admitted in an interview with Corriere di Bologna.
“It’s unacceptable to be so low in Serie A. I thought our team was stronger, we need to increase revenues without taking away from our passion and heart.
“It’s not speculation, we’re financing sport.”
