West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic admitted that his side are now part of the relegation scrap, after losing 3-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The Hammers’ defeat at the Emirates Stadium saw them increase their winless run in the Premier League to seven games, including five consecutive defeats.
The torrid string of results places West Ham only five points clear of the relegation zone, with the pressure on Bilic increasing with every defeat.
When asked if West Ham are now in the thick of the relegation battle,” Bilic said after the game. “Of course we are. We don’t have to hide it. It’s not being negative, it’s being realistic.
“I told the players to forget today – we have big games ahead of us. It’s a massive game against Swansea on Saturday.
“We are in a fight to keep our Premier League status. We have to start winning games.
“To get that confidence back is the key point. One win will change everything for us. Because three points at this stage of the season are massive.”
