Matsatsantsa romped to a 4-1 victory over Orlando Pirates in the final, thanks to a brace from Bradley Grobler and goals from Jeremy Brockie and Kingston Nkhatha.
Brockie saw a penalty saved by Buccaneers keeper Siyabonga Mpotshane before his excellent headed goal, while Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa grabbed a late consolation from the spot.
“I thought the lads gave a fantastic performance,” new Bafana Bafana boss Baxter said after the game.
“It could have run away to five or six , and then we give up a penalty at the finish. I will try not to let that spoil my evening.
“It was a very disciplined. We knew the way that games are when you play Orlando Pirates. Individual skills that you have to negate, but what makes them strong also makes them weak at times.
“Once we got ourselves in front, I think it became more and more obvious they were going to struggle because the more they opened, the more we hurt them.
“I thought the players played marvelously, their tactical awareness, to run the game in a cup final like they did, it was so cold, so clinical. They just come and do a job and go home with trophy, and that is magnificent.”
