Bafana striker set for European switch

Newly called-up Bafana Bafana forward Liam Jordan looks set to make his loan move to Sporting Lisbon a permanent deal from Premiership champions Bidvest Wits.

The Amajita star spent the past season on a temporary switch with the Portuguese giants’ development squad and according to the Students and his agent, Glyn Binkin – the two club’s are in ‘advanced stages’ of the contractual negotiations.

Jordan is part of Stuart Baxter’s latest national team squad for the upcoming COSAFA Cup and will be hoping to make his senior national team debut after impressing within the various youth levels for South Africa.

“Negotiations with Sporting regarding Liam are at an advanced stage, we’re hopeful that things will be finalised within the next week for him to be there next season,” Wits’ CEO, Jose Ferreira told Soccer Laduma.

The 18-year-old attacker has scored two goals in four appearances for Amajita since making his debut in the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
