Arsenal v Doncaster Rovers

Arsenal don’t want to show any weakness when they welcome Doncaster Rovers to the Emirates Stadium for a League Cup third round clash on Wednesday.

The Gunners have recovered from their thrashing at the hands of Liverpool with wins over Bournemouth and Cologne before holding Chelsea to a 1-1 draw over the weekend.

Rovers, meanwhile, enter the match after some poor results in League One, England’s third tier. Northampton Town, Rochdale, and Scunthorpe United have all got the better of them in recent weeks, leaving them 19th in the standings.

Rovers defender Andy Butler is looking forward to the match, which will be well-attended by the visiting fans, with the defender hoping to make it worth their while.

“It gives everyone a good day out, not just for us but the fans as well. There are not many chances to go watch your team against a top four side,” he said.

“We want to put a good performance for them. We are the underdogs and the pressure is on them to beat us, so we’ll just do what we can and try and put a good show on.”

In team news, there are doubts on the fitness of Danny Welbeck (groin strain) and Mesut Ozil (knee), while Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla remain sidelined.
