AmaZulu admit Ntuli interest

Durban-based club AmaZulu are keen to sign Bafana Bafana-capped marksman Bongi Ntuli from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Usuthu have been on somewhat of a buying spree since they booked their spot back in the top-flight after purchasing the franchise of National First Division champions Thanda Royal Zulu.

The club has already signed Jabulani Ncobeni, Sduduzo Dlamini, Siyabonga Mbatha, Ayabulela Konqobe (all from Thanda), as well as Siyethemba Mnguni, Sadat Ouro-Akoriko and Boalefa Pule, with Michael Morton also expected to join once contract details are taken care of.

Speaking to the Star newspaper, AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela said the club are still looking to make more signings, with Ntuli one of the players on their radar.

“Both parties are keen to join each other. Bongi wants to come and play for us and we also want to have him in our squad, but the fact of the matter is that he is Mamelodi Sundowns player,” Sokhela said.

Ntuli was on loan at AmaZulu in the 2014/15 season, scoring six goals in 12 matches, not enough however to help the team stave off relegation.

The 26-year-old has been on loan with Dikwena for the last two seasons from Sundowns, netting nine goals in 38 league appearances. He started his professional career with Golden Arrows.
