The agent of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has claimed that former club Borussia Dortmund tried to injure him on Saturday.
Bayern won Der Klassiker 4-1 at the Allianz Arena, with the Poland international scoring a brace, and now the player’s agent has suggested Dortmund employed some dirty tactics to keep him quiet.
“I got the feeling that Dortmund wanted to eliminate Robert at all costs,” Lewandowski’s agent Maik Barthel was quoted in German newspaper Bild.
But the claims were rubbished by Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc, who insisted they wanted to keep their former striker out of the game in a sporting manner.
Carlo Ancelotti sides’ win saw Die Rotten maintain their 10 point advantage over second-placed RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga standings.
