Agent denies Matlaba unhappiness at Bucs

Abbie Rasimphi, the agent of Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba, has denied his client is unhappy at the club and says he is focused on improving his form.

Matlaba, who has publicly admitted he hasn’t enjoyed the best season in terms of personal form, has been at Pirates since 2012 and is regarded as dangerous attacking option from left-back.

However, coinciding with Bucs’ difficult run of form in 2016/17, the player was reportedly said to be unhappy and was allegedly considering a move away from the side next season.

Yet, Rasimphi has denied this to be the case. He told Goal: “There’s no truth in those reports. How can a player not be happy at a big club like Pirates? I don’t know this. I would be the first one to know if the player isn’t happy.

“Whichever source was quoted made up baseless stories. I think they are just trying to create confusion. Whoever said that must have been brave enough to say it on record, but there’s no truth in all that.”
