Afellay unsure over Potters future

Stoke City midfielder Ibrahim Afellay admits he is not sure whether he will remain in the Premier League beyond this season.

The highly-rated Dutchman joined the Potters from Barcelona in search of regular first-team football but has been plagued by injuries since his arrival at the Bet365 Stadium.

Nonetheless, the 30-year-old has impressed when fielded by manager Mark Hughes in a advanced playmaker role.

But with his current contract expiring at the end of the current season, the Netherlands international claims he’s not heard anything from the club over a possible renewal.

“No news at the moment,” he told the Daily Mail in response to whether he’ll remain in England. “For this kind of question you have to ask my agent.

“That’s the only answer I can give at the moment. It’s a nice club, of course, but for the moment I can say nothing.

“I am focused on the job on the pitch,” Afellay added. “The rest is not for me.”
