The exact opposite is happening in South African, at least from a distance. More than ever, it seems entertainers in this country are taking image far more seriously than the case used to be. No one dares step on that red carpet looking like they rocked up in a dress sewn by the local seamstress ekasi. Why is this a good thing? Entertainment is more than just about talent. In fact, talent counts for a small percentage of how one is perceived by their audience. Fashion is an integral part of it.
How you represent yourself as an artist tells the audience just how seriously you take what you do, and it’s impressive to see that the stars are going all out to impress the fans who are the foundation of their success, even if it means stepping out baring all the skin (in fact, we love that, don’t we?)! Have you been to your favourite retailer and looked through the rails lately? Sheer fabrication, baring skin, is on trend! And the stars – at least the ones we mention – are right on the money!
