Cilic: I believe I’m ready

Croatia’s Marin Cilic is confident that he has what it takes to stop Swiss superstar Roger Federer from winning an eighth Wimbledon singles title in Sunday’s final on Centre Court.

The two head into Sunday’s final with the 35-year-old Federer having beaten his 28-year-old opponent in six of the seven times they have played each other in the past.

In last year’s Wimbledon quarter-final match between the two, Cilic lost in a close five sets to the Swiss 18-times grand slam winner, who needed to save three match points for the victory.

Cilic feels he has the ability to go one better in today’s final and upset Federer’s plans on claiming a record breaking eighth All England Club men’s singles title.
